Terms of Service

Effective date: 25 March 2025 · Last updated: 25 March 2025

1. Agreement to Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Privizee Slack application and any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Privizee is an AI-powered privacy compliance assistant that operates inside Slack. It provides GDPR question-and-answer guidance, document review, Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) workflows, and third-party vendor assessments. The Service is designed to assist — not replace — qualified legal or data protection advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. The Service is intended for business use; consumer accounts are not supported.

4. Account & Workspace

When you install Privizee to a Slack workspace, a tenant is automatically created. You are responsible for managing who has access to your Slack workspace and, by extension, to the Service. You agree to keep your Slack credentials secure and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Upload malicious content or use the Service to process data you are not authorised to handle.
  • Resell, sublicence, or redistribute access without written permission.

6. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We process only the data necessary to provide the Service. Documents and messages you share with the bot are processed in real time and are not retained beyond the duration required to deliver a response, unless you explicitly opt into storage (e.g. DPIA records, audit logs).

7. AI Disclaimer

The Service uses large language models to generate guidance and analysis. Outputs are informational only and do not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice. You are solely responsible for verifying accuracy and making compliance decisions. Privizee makes no guarantee that AI-generated content is complete, correct, or current.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service — including its software, models, design, and documentation — remain with Privizee. You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

9. Subscriptions & Billing

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing frequency, and included usage are described on our website or within the Slack application. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Slack application. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your tenant data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Privizee and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Warranties Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Service or by other reasonable means at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
